Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS) Pilani is set to construct a wind tunnel facility in Telangana. The wind tunnel will have two test sections, one for full-scale assessment of quadcopters and automobile cooling systems, and another for simulating winds at speeds of up to 220 Kmph. The facility aims to revolutionize aerodynamic testing and research in India, fuel the country’s space endeavors, and facilitate research in drones and autonomous flying vehicles. The project is supported by entrepreneur and BITS Pilani alumnus Goutham Kurra. The wind tunnel will offer valuable insights into flight dynamics and test a range of subjects.
