Xiaomi’s upcoming 18 series may adopt a split chipset strategy, according to a new leak from China. The standard Xiaomi 18 is expected to use Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6, while the more expensive Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro could be reserved for the Xiaomi 18 Pro and Pro Max due to cost concerns. Qualcomm is rumoured to unveil the new chips in September, followed by Xiaomi’s launch. The tipster previously claimed Xiaomi is testing dual 200-megapixel sensors for the Xiaomi 18 Pro.
