Goldman Sachs is reportedly considering ending its association with Apple as their partnership, which created the Apple Card, becomes increasingly strained. A report by The Information reveals how the alliance deteriorated over four years, leading to Goldman’s desire to extract itself from the partnership. Apple CEO, Tim Cook, experienced difficulties getting approved for an Apple Card during the application process. Despite Cook’s strong financial credentials, Goldman Sachs intervened and permitted a one-time exception to their underwriting system to issue the Apple Card to Cook. The contract between the two companies expires in 2026, with a lesser-known bank set to handle it.
