If you’re a runner, you should know that time is running out to snag some of the year’s best deals on running gear. (Sorry, couldn’t resist.) As someone who hates spending money, and would honestly run naked if possible, here are the running gear must-haves on sale for just a few more hours.
The best deals on running shoes
When it comes to shopping for (and splurging on) running equipment, nothing is more important than your shoes. Trusted brands like Adidas, Saucony, and New Balance all have excellent deals to take advantage of before Prime Day ends. I’m a minimalist runner, and my sneakers tend to match that vibe—I opt for neutral shoes with moderate cushioning.
The best deal I see still going on right now is the Saucony Endorphin Speed 4 at 25% off, bringing the price down to $127 (women’s). Weirdly, the men’s the price is 27% off, making them two dollars cheaper at $125. It’s a man’s world.
The best deals on smartwatches
If you’re looking for the best deals on multi-purpose fitness trackers, look no further than Beth Skwarecki’s round-up here. The highlight for runners specifically are the deals on Garmin’s Forerunner line. Here’s how Beth spells it out:

Garmin Forerunner 955: $350 (originally $600). An incredibly feature-rich watch with maps and tons of advanced running features. It has a reflective MIP screen, which is older tech but many Garmin fans will tell you it’s more practical than AMOLED.

Garmin Forerunner 255: $200 (originally $350). This is the baby version of the 955, with the same main features but no maps and no touchscreen (you operate it with the side buttons). Look for the Music version if you want offline music storage (an extra $50) and the “S” version for a smaller size. All are available from that same link.

Garmin Forerunner 165: $232 (originally $250). Probably the most popular entry-level Garmin running watch at the moment. It’s not on a great sale, but you can save a few bucks if this is the watch you really want. It has an AMOLED screen rather than the older MIP. Still, the 255 is the better buy.
Prime Day aside, the Forerunner 955 and 255 are some of the best values you can find in any watch or fitness tracker at the moment.
The best deals on running belts
The two big names in running belts are the minimalist SPIbelt and the maximalist Flipbelt. The SPIbelt (“small personal item belt”) is perfect for the low-key runner who only needs to hold their phone or their keys. However, Flipbelt has my heart, and for a simple reason: Everything stays in place while you run. I tuck my energy gels, keys, phone, even some tissues in my Flipbelt, and it all stays snug on my person during my run—no bouncing up and down while you go.
Whichever brand you choose, there are Prime Day deals for you. My tried-and-true Flipbelt is available for about $33, down from $39. For anyone Team SPIbelt, you can snag one for a cheeky $2 discount at $25. Hey, it’s something.
The best deals on hydration
On a long run, a proper handheld water bottle makes a world of difference. (This is coming from someone who used to take plastic water bottles on every long run…not my proudest moments.)
If you’re going to buy a handheld water bottle, I recommend one that comes with pocket big enough for your phone, like this Nathan SpeedView Flask for $32 (originally $40). Alternatively, you could snag a simple handheld, quick-squeeze water bottle for just $24 (a 20% markdown).
But as our runs get longer and the temperatures creep higher, a standard water bottle just doesn’t cut it. This is where running vests come in. I once again recommend Nathan for this hydration pack/running vest. It’s currently 46% off, down to $98 from a retail price of $180. With a vest system like this, you can get consistent hydration access without the sloshing or shifting that can disrupt your oh-so-precious running rhythm.
