Prime Day 2025 is here from Tuesday, July 8 to Friday, July 11, and Lifehacker is sharing the best sales based on product reviews, comparisons, and price-tracking tools.

I’ve been keeping notebooks since I was a kid. I’ve got boxes of them stored away, full of twenty-something musings about crushes, garden plans, and recipes. But for most of 2023, I lost my cheesemaking notebook and was devastated.

Enter Rocketbook. Think of Rocketbook as a hybrid between a paper notebook and a tablet: You write in it just like a regular notebook (it doesn’t matter whether lined, unlined, grid, to-do lists, or calendars—Rocketbook has them all), and when you’re done, you click a button in the app, and the page is saved in the cloud. Better yet, there are no subscription fees. When you’re ready, you just wipe the page clean with a cloth and start again.

As someone who is apt to put things down and forget them (and someone who went through a house fire in my 20s and lost almost everything), having a cloud-based backup is invaluable. But I also like the weight of my Rocketbook. It’s easy to write in, and I like the smoothness of the pages and the glide of the pen.

This isn’t a tablet, and it’s part of what I like about it. It’s a perfect hybrid between paper and technology. I can use one notebook for everything, and then organize the uploads: gardening, cooking, sketching, and so on. The app is highly usable, and the notebook comes in all kinds of colors. You can even decorate the outside like you would a real notebook. Rocketbooks don’t cost a lot more than a nice notebook, either. Mine is $39.99 usually, but it’s on sale right now for $24.99. At the rate that I go through notebooks, this is a steal.
