Google has announced that it will be discontinuing Google Podcasts in 2024. Instead, the company will be focusing on improving the podcast experience on YouTube Music, with YouTube-only features for community, discovery, and audio/visual switching. Google will work with podcasters and listeners to ensure a smooth transition to YouTube Music, providing tools for migration such as importing podcast RSS feeds and transferring show subscriptions to other platforms. Google also emphasized that currently, there will be no changes and users will still have access to YouTube, YouTube Music, and Google Podcasts.
