Apple threatens to shut down iMessage, FaceTime in the UK over Online Safety Bill

Apple has warned that it may have to remove certain security features, including FaceTime and iMessage services, in the UK if the new Online Safety Bill, which challenges end-to-end encryption, is passed in its current form. The company is concerned that implementing such changes would pose significant risk to data security and privacy of all users worldwide. Other encrypted messaging services like WhatsApp and Signal have also expressed their opposition to the proposed legislation and stated that they will not comply with specific clauses in the bill.
